The booking page of MozgásKlinika Újbuda has a line whose name gives little away: manual therapy combined with physical therapy (“Manuálterápiával kombinált fizikoterápia”). The clinic’s description calls it an intensive pain-relieving treatment in which six devices can complement the hands-on work. Here they are in turn.
The six devices
- Electrotherapy (TENS). A mild electrical stimulus delivered through electrodes stuck to the skin.
- Ultrasound. The therapist moves a treatment head over the area being treated.
- Cupping. Cups placed on the skin work on the soft tissue through suction.
- Flossing. An elastic band is wrapped around the body part, which is then moved through its range.
- Kinesiology tape. An elastic adhesive strip that stays on your skin after the session.
- Vibration massage. Soft-tissue treatment with a vibrating device.
You do not choose between these in the calendar: the physiotherapist decides on the basis of your current condition.
Why can it not be booked on its own?
In Újbuda, physical therapy is not a separate appointment. The booking system lists it only together with hands-on treatment: one 50-minute session costs HUF 24,990. The professional reason is that the devices are a complement. They may help to ease the complaint, but strength and movement control are built by active work, as the article on physiotherapy and manual therapy also shows.
Who on the team uses them?
According to the physiotherapists’ own profiles, the fields listed by Forsthoffer Réka include the kinesiology taping technique and cupping, and Mizsei Zsófia has completed Kinesio Tape training. The combined treatment can be booked with all six colleagues, who are introduced on the team page.
What to expect at the session
The treatment starts with hands-on techniques, and the device is added to them. If your skin is sensitive, if you have a wound in the area, or if you live with any implanted device, tell the therapist before they begin. The clinic has not published a list of contraindications, so your questions are answered in person.
Where does it fit in your plan?
Typically at the beginning, when the aim is to ease pain. On the upper levels of the MozgásPiramis the emphasis moves to active movement. If this would be your first visit, book the first assessment.
