Frequently asked questions

Your first visit

Do I need a referral?

No. You do not need a referral for MozgásKlinika Újbuda. Anyone can book directly, online or by phone.

First assessment

What happens at the first visit and how long does it take?

The first consultation at MozgásKlinika Újbuda lasts 60 minutes: a consultation, an assessment, a review of the reports you bring and the start of treatment. It costs 24,990 HUF.

How the first visit works

What should I bring?

If you have earlier reports, test results or discharge summaries, bring them: the therapist reviews them. They are not required for the consultation. Comfortable clothes you can move in are a good idea.

Do I need an assessment if I have already been examined elsewhere?

Yes. At MozgásKlinika Újbuda the first visit starts with an assessment, even if you have been examined elsewhere and bring results. The therapist reviews your reports, and treatment starts in the same session.

About the first assessment

Will I be treated at the first visit?

Yes. Following the MozgásKlinika method, treatment starts in the same session as the assessment, so you do not have to wait for a separate appointment.

Treatment

What is the difference between manual therapy and physiotherapy?

Manual therapy is done by the therapist’s hands and works on joint mobility, soft tissues and pain. Physiotherapy (gyógytorna) is active: personalised exercises that build the change into your movement and develop strength and stability. Here the two build on each other; they are not alternatives.

What is physical therapy, and how do I book it?

Physical therapy can ease pain with devices and physical methods such as TENS, ultrasound, cupping, kinesiology taping, flossing and vibration massage. At MozgásKlinika Újbuda it is booked in Salonic together with manual therapy (50 minutes, 24,990 HUF). Please ask the clinic whether it can be booked on its own.

Physical therapy

What is Medical Fitness?

Medical Fitness is the top of the MozgásPiramis®, the bridge between rehabilitation and a long-term active life: interval, cardio power and functional training led by a physiotherapist, with a personal exercise programme. At MozgásKlinika Újbuda a 60-minute session costs 22,990 HUF; a 12-session pass is also available.

All treatments

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your condition and can never be guaranteed in advance. At MozgásKlinika Újbuda you receive a treatment plan and a realistic estimate at the first consultation, after the assessment.

The MozgásPiramis® levels

Why complete the whole treatment programme?

Less pain does not yet mean that range of motion, strength and load tolerance have been rebuilt. That is why, after reducing pain, the MozgásPiramis® also works on range of motion, strength, functional stability and the return to full load, so that the problem is less likely to come back.

About the method

Can manual therapy be used for a herniated disc?

Yes. After a proper assessment, manual therapy can also be used for a herniated disc; at the first consultation the therapist decides which techniques are suitable.

Manual therapy

What problems do you treat?

MozgásKlinika Újbuda works with musculoskeletal problems: low back and neck pain, disc herniation, shoulder, hip and knee pain, posture-related complaints, flat feet, jaw joint (TMJ) complaints, sports injuries, and preparation before and rehabilitation after surgery. Which treatment suits your problem is decided at the first consultation.

Our treatments

How is MozgásKlinika different from other physiotherapy practices?

At MozgásKlinika Újbuda university-trained physiotherapists combine manual therapy with active physiotherapy and follow the MozgásPiramis® method. Treatment starts at the very first visit.
